Laguna Beach Guide
Experience the best Laguna Beach restaurants, perched high above the cliffs overlooking the beautiful Pacific ocean as the sun sets. This a great town to roam the streets and visit the unique art and clothing shops. There are lots of great restaurants to choose from. Here are a few of my favorites during our four day extended weekend trip.
The Cliff Restaurant is definitely one of the best Laguna Beach restaurants for great food and a stunning Pacific ocean sunset dinner. The menu is a nice combination of fresh seafood, meats, soups, salads and a selection of tasty Mexican style dishes. We tried several appetizers in addition to our main entrée. The service was great. All of the seafood entrees were fresh and extremely well prepared, especially the scallops and calamari which are easy to overcook.
The calamari steak was sweet and tender and the portion very large. The light panko crust was prepared perfectly. A great dish to share with 2 to 4 people.
The coconut shrimp was one of our favorites....so much so, our party of four ordered two! The coconut breaded shrimp was crunchy yet tender and comes with papaya and mango dipping sauces.
The grilled mahi mahi tacos are a combination of very fresh and tender fish with cilantro, roasted salsa, cabbage, red onion served with spanish rice and mixed greens. The three tacos were large enough to make this a filling entree.
Scallops are one of those dishes that, when cooking, have a very small window to perfection before they are either under cooked or over done. The Cliff's were perfect. Translucent in the center, tender and sweet.
The Quesadilla Especial was the perfect size and combination of cheeses, chicken, homemade salsa and fresh guacamole.

The Rooftop Laguna Beach is another nice place to enjoy some great food, fresh air and a beautiful view of the Pacific and beach. Almost every seat in the outdoor patio has a great view. Perfect spot to enjoy a Sunday brunch, lunch or sunset dinner.
The seared Ahi was prepared perfectly. Tender and sweet.
Crunchy sesame seed scallops.
Boneless pork ribs on top of mashed potatoes.
